Site Statistics

Last night I looked at the statistics for my site, I wanted to see how things have changed over the last two years. Hits have been increasing overall, with the expected drops in the months that I’m unable to post frequently. Checking the origin point of these hits I hoped to gain some [...]

7 Link Challenge

Over at ProBlogger there was posted the 7 Link Challenge. I decided it would make a good post for my blog. Below are links to seven blog entries, six of them mine, one by another blogger. Hopefully you’ll find something that interests you in these links.

Coming Soon!

Most posting frequency will be increasing shortly.  There are a number of items I’ll be writing about this summer and into the fall.
First will be occassional coverage of some vintage baseball games played near my area.  With future posts I’ll include more details on the rulse of baseball in 1865.  Plan to include some information [...]

Today is Flag Day in the United States. Happy 233rd birthday to Old Glory!

August 2009 update

Over the [...]

Across the Blogosphere: Today in Medieval History

This week I’ve decided to link into a blog called Today in Medieval History. It has a rather broad definition of Medieval and focuses a bit on England, but since I’ve so far neglected that era of history I thought I’d share the link.

Across the Blogosphere: A Brief History of Toilets

Roughly every week I’ll be trying to post interesting links to other history blogs out in the ‘blogosphere’ to help add a little variety here.  Today, for the first such post, I’ve decided to link up to an article over at the History Blog entitled: A Brief History of Toilets: From Ancient Toilets to Thomas [...]

Happy Memorial Day

I hope everyone has a good Memorial Day. Between all the traveling and picnics and other recreation I hope that you also remember what the day means. After the carnage of the Civil War, Memorial Day was established to remember the Union soldiers who died in that conflict. After World War I it was expanded [...]
